Acey Duecy Backgammon Rules

In the game of backgammon there are many variations of the game and the rules such as acey
duecy backgammon rules.  The only change with this game is that the game starts with all
checkers off the board. The movements of the checkers are exactly the same as in the regular
game of backgammon. This means that the white checkers have to move from the black outer
board to the white outer board and then to the white checkers home. Only then can they bear off.
The black checkers are played in the same manner.

The biggest change between a regular backgammon game and acey duecy is that a player can
move any checker he wants at any time whether or not he has checkers to bring in. The rest of
the rules are similar to backgammon. In acey duecy, when a player rolls 1-2 or acey duecy you
must first play the ace and deuce and then play any number you want four times. Then you get an
extra roll and if you throw an ace and deuce again, you can repeat the same procedure all over
again.

The strategy for acey duecy is trying to make advance points as soon as possible and determining
if it is possible to make adjacent points as base for a prime. If the two sides both create primes
right up against one, another the advantage will be with the further advanced prime. If in the
event that the player with the furthest advanced prime has to break his first, the odds will still be
in your favor to win the game. If you can hold the prime longer, the odds of winning are still in
your favor.

There is just a little difference between the two types of backgammon and if you know the basic
rules of backgammon either one will not be difficult. You should be able to play both games with
ease and thoroughly enjoy playing.
