Backgammon Beginner Instructions
At first glance backgammon is a very easy game, so much so that even a beginner can beat a pro in the first game. As you keep playing, you realize there is a lot more involved than the luck of the die to make you a winner. That is why it is so important for you to learn backgammon beginner instructions. The basic rules can be learned in one sitting but the strategies of the game take a while longer.
To win at backgammon you must move your men around the board from your opponents home board to his outer board, onto your outer board and into your inner board. Once you have all your men in your home board, you can start the process of bearing off, where you have to move all your men from the board with throws of the dice. The first one to remove all of these men is the winner.
To start the game each player throws the die and the one with the highest die starts the game. You do have to use the numbers of both dice to move. For example if a 2 and a 4 are rolled, then these are the numbers that have to be used in your move. The player that throws the higher die also has the choice of what color they want. After the first play, then each player takes his or her turn rolling the die and moving accordingly.
Having the opening move in backgammon is always an advantage and it will permit you to dictate the strategy of the game that you're playing. There are two main objects to keep in mind when you're doing this and they are to try and trap your opponent's runner behind a blockade and to escape with your two runners before he can trap you.
